Abington Police Reports — A Couple of Crashes

DUI and possession of a small amount of marijuana … Maxwell Vincent Caviston Flynn, 25, of the unit block of Holly Terrace, Cambridge, Md., was arrested Dec. 3 at 3:21 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Susquehanna Road and Boone Avenue in Roslyn after the vehicle twice drove straight while in turn-only lanes, police said. According to police, Caviston Flynn said he was coming from a friend’s house and said that he had a beer at 10 p.m. The defendant had glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a faint odor of alcohol.
According to police, Caviston Flynn had a sandwich bag that said “Trick or Treat” on it along with images of pumpkins — it contained 1.33 grams of confirmed marijuana. Caviston Flynn was also in possession of a glass pipe. The defendant resisted attempts to be handcuffed; he had a blood alcohol content of 0.056 percent and his blood tested positive for the presence of marijuana, amphetamine and Alprazolam, police said.
DUI and careless driving … Kimberly R. Hardmon, 39, of the 100 block of East Street Road, Warminster, was arrested Jan. 20 following a crash in the corner of Easton and Woodland roads, police said. According to police, Hardmon had slurred speech, glassy and bloodshot eyes and her blood tested positive for the presence of Butalbital.
DUI and Careless driving … Thomas Ochoa, 33, of the 1500 block of Prospect Avenue, Willow Grove, was arrested Jan. 21 at 2:30 a.m. following a traffic stop near the corner of Easton Road and Mildred Avenue for swerving over the double yellow lines several times, police said. According to police, Ochoa attempted to push the person in the passenger seat out of the vehicle; Ochoa attempted to exit the vehicle via the passenger side door.
Police found several empty beer cans scattered throughout the vehicle. Ochoa was unable to keep his balance as he exited the vehicle.
Ochoa smelled of alcohol, had glassy and bloodshot eyes and said he was coming from the bar, police said. When asked if he was drinking, Ochoa said, “Yeah, cuatro.” He failed two field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of 0.238 percent.
Robbery … Menzi Mkhize, 28, of the 1500 block of Arline Avenue, Roslyn, was arrested Feb. 4 at 6:35 p.m. after he stole a gold and diamond ring worth more than $2,000 from another resident in the 1500 block of Arline Avenue on Jan. 30, police said. According to police, the other resident confronted Mkhize about the theft on Feb. 4; during the confrontation, Mkhize was wearing the ring. The other resident got the ring back following a struggle and Mkhize was later found near the corner of Patane and Reservoir avenues, police said.
Weapons or implements for escape … Tyrie R. Miller, 26, of the 2500 block of Maryland Road, Willow Grove, was re-arrested Feb. 8 at 1:36 a.m. at Abington Police headquarters after police found him to have a small razor blade wrapped in tissue paper in his left shoe, police said. According to police, Miller was being transported from Montgomery County Corrections Facility to Abington Police headquarters. The razor blade appeared to have come from a shaving razor, police said. According to police, Miller said he forgot that he had the razor in his shoe.
DUI, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, open lewdness, reckless driving and … speeding … Oleksandr Myronovych, 43, of the 1600 block of Strahle Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. following a crash in the 500 block of Meadowbrook Road in which he flipped his Nissan Sentra and landed it on its hood, police said. According to police, Myronovych exited the vehicle and smelled strongly of alcohol; Myronovych had bloodshot eyes and had a hard time keeping his balance.
Myronovych said he swerved to avoid another vehicle and then crashed into a utility pole. Myronovych then said to police, “I have to pee,” and then proceeded to urinate on the side of the road. His actions were in plain view of other motorists, police said.
Myronovych was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital for a chemical test; he was uncooperative and aggressive, police said. At one point Myronovych said, “I will contact the Russian Maffia and have them take care of you and your family, you will see.” Myronovych refused a blood test and reiterated that he was going back to Russia.
According to police, Myronovych advanced toward a police officer and made contact with the officer; he was then taken to the floor.
