A couple of DUIs and some strange retail thefts
Retail theft … Shakeeta Kimberly Williams, 27, of Ontario Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. after she stole two Burberry coats (worth a total of $990) and one Michael Kors Coat (worth a total of $250) from Bloomingdale’s and fled in a red Chevy Monte Carlo, police said. According to police, Williams was stopped by Jenkintown Police in the corner of Old York Road and Greenwood Avenue. The merchandise was recovered.
Retail theft … Rasheed Roache, 32, of North 20th Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 26 at 2:20 p.m. after Roache concealed $498 worth of merchandise from the Willow Grove Park mall and left without attempting to pay, police said. Roache has one prior conviction for retail theft, according to police.
DUI and careless driving … Jacqueline Leah Evans, 22, of Wharton Road, Glenside, was arrested Nov. 22 at 2:26 a.m. following a traffic stop for driving without headlights, steering abruptly and for almost hitting a utility pole, while driving on Edge Hill Road, police said. According to police, Evans had bloodshot and glassy eyes, a flushed face and smelled of alcohol. She almost fell down while exiting her black Ford Focus. There was an unopened can of Miller Lite in her purse and her blood alcohol content was 0.207 percent, police said.
Retail theft … Gino Sampson, 47, of North 22nd Street, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 21 at noon after he stuffed several boxes of cough syrup and cough tablets under a white puffy jacket and fled the Wawa on Susquehanna Road, police said. According to police, when Sampson was confronted, 16 items — worth a total of $162 — fell on the floor. Sampson was later found hiding in the bushes near the Roslyn Train Station. Sampson has 22 contacts with police for retail theft, police said.
False ID to law enforcement and driving with a suspended license … Ann Marie Thomas-Darham, 28, of Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 14 at 3:28 a.m. following a traffic stop for having a malfunctioning license plate light near the corner of Township Line Road and Cadwalader Avenue, police said. According to police, Thomas-Darham said her name was Wendy Thomas … and then Wendy Thomas Jaggernauth.
Retail theft … Namunisha Johnson, 24, of Wyoming Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested Nov. 12 at 6:25 p.m. at Target in the 1400 block of Old York Road after a Target loss prevention officer said Johnson put several pieces of women’s clothing in a cart and left without attempting to pay, police said. The total value of the merchandise was $269.
DUI … Benjamin Ralph Brown Jr., 51, of Girard Avenue, Glenside, was arrested Nov. 9 at 8:42 p.m. near the corner of Chelsea Avenue and Limekiln Pike following a traffic stop for not signaling and for nearly coming to a stop on several occasions, police said. According to police, Brown said he was going from his house to Jenkintown … but police told him he was driving in the wrong direction. He then said, “I’m going to Acme to buy diapers.” Brown smelled of alcohol, had glassy and bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and staggered when he exited his Cadillac SLS. Brown’s blood alcohol content was 0.115 percent, police said.
