Pottstown Bark for Life volunteers spent the morning bathing, brushing and toweling their way through 55 dogs to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The Atomic Dog Wash was hosted by Penn Liberty Bank vice president Tom Thunstrom and his branch on Lewis Road.

Dogs of all sizes came out to get cleaned up. Russ Sarault of Old English Grooming was on hand to take care of the brushing, nail trimming and ear cleaning, and a team of volunteers handled all the bathing.

This event is Bark for Life's last event for the year. Their fundraising year starts again in September, and their marquee event is the Bark for Life dog walk in the spring.

This year's walk will be held at Pottstown Memorial Park on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
