Gilda’s Club’s PAWS4LIFE Dog Walk Sets Registration Record!

115 Dogs are registered for Saturday’s fund raiser in Warminster Community Park.

“This Saturday is our 14th annual Paws 4 Life Dog Walk at Warminster Community Park with festivities following at the Gilda’s Clubhouse. This has always been one of our largest and most popular events. To date, three days before the Walk, we have 115 dogs pre-registered, the largest number in our entire 14-year history!” proclaimed Kelly Harris, Gilda’s Club Delaware Valley’s Chief Executive Officer.

’I’d like to offer particular thanks to Craig Peters and Marketing Committee Member Lynn Borders Caldwell for their awesome work on marketing this event!” added Ms. Harris. “If you are in Philadelphia, don’t forget to look up at the PECO building, you will see the event name in lights tonight, tomorrow and Friday!”

There’s still time to join the fun! Bring your family, friends, and your dog to Warminster Community Park for an entire morning of food and family entertainment. Registration is $30 per leash at 9 am on the day of the event or pre-register today (October 3) and SAVE $5.

Enter your dog in a contest to determine which one

  • is the sloppiest kisser,
  • looks most like his/her owner,
  • has the best costume, longest ears and more!

Celebrity Judges Dr. Gray K. Newman of VCA Animal Hospital, Kate Fratti, news writer and columnist for the Bucks County Courier Times, The Burlington County Times and The Intelligencer, and Mike Morsch, Executive Editor and columnist for Montgomery Newspapers will determine the winners. This year’s Honorary Chairs are cancer survivors Carol Erickson, CBS-3 Meteorologist and host of Ask the Vet and Singer Lauren Hart.

Additional entertainment includes music by Sounds of Freedom DJs, games for kids, pet photos, a silent auction, demonstrations by Mid-Atlantic Disc Dogs, Flexible Flyers Agility Club, and Oakes K-9 Training, as well as a food and vendor areas.

Event sponsors include Stroehmann, Pabby’s Pet Pantry, PetSmart, KMRD Partners, and Janssen.

Funds raised help Gilda's Club provide free social and emotional support programs to adults and children living with cancer. Gilda's Club Delaware Valley is the local chapter of Gilda's Club, which was founded in memory of Gilda Radner of Saturday Night Live. Radner firmly believed that no one should go through cancer alone. She died of ovarian cancer at age 43.
